Renters consistently lose rights they legally have because they don't know what those rights are or how to exercise them. SafeSpace addresses that directly: jurisdiction-specific information, written in plain language, with step-by-step complaint filing workflows and direct links to local legal aid organizations.
Currently serving Boulder, CO and 15 additional cities across 6 states. Each city page is maintained with current contact information for housing authorities, tenant unions, legal aid organizations, and emergency housing resources.
SafeSpace is a public good built and maintained by SpiritTree. It will always be free. The paid SafeSpace Template product lets you launch your own city portal using the same codebase.
Version 1 launched with Boulder, CO. Currently active in 16 cities across 6 states. New cities added as volunteer contributors submit jurisdiction research.
